Hi, I’m Johanna. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Alba Therapy. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and questions of identity, purpose, and meaning.
My style is engaged and conversational. I’m not a therapist who simply nods along—I’ll help you slow things down, recognize patterns, ask the harder questions, and identify practical ways to move forward.
I draw from existential, person-centered, solution-focused, motivational, and cognitive-behavioral approaches depending on what you need. For clients who want faith to be part of therapy, I also welcome Christian integration in a way that respects your beliefs, questions, and individual experience.
Therapy can make room for both understanding where you’ve been and deciding where you want to go.

My clinical experience includes crisis and emergency behavioral health services, residential crisis stabilization, substance use treatment, outpatient therapy, and work with individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
Before opening Alba Therapy, I spent several years working across community behavioral health settings with people experiencing everything from everyday life challenges to significant emotional and psychiatric crises.
Additional Training
My professional training includes cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, person-centered, trauma-informed, substance use, and relationship-focused approaches.
When I’m not in the therapy chair, you’ll probably find me:
Taking care of my ever-growing collection of plants 🪴
Crocheting something I probably convinced myself would be a “quick project” 🧶
Wandering through a farmers market or finding a cozy coffee shop ☕
Spending time with my family
Challenging myself to try something new—even when it’s outside my comfort zone
I believe there’s room for both depth and laughter, in therapy and in life.
Why Alba Therapy
Alba means “dawn”—the beginning of a new day.
I chose the name because I believe change often begins before everything feels clear. Sometimes it starts quietly: with recognizing that something isn't working anymore, asking a question you've been avoiding, or deciding you're ready to live differently.
Therapy doesn't erase what came before. It can help you understand it, make meaning from it, and decide what you want to carry forward.
You don't have to see the whole path to begin moving toward something new.
